  • Kian de la Cour: President

I am a white, genderqueer man living in the U.K. I have special interests in ethical practice and in the co-creation of collaboration internationally between SB/SSE practitioners, training institutes and professional associations.

I trained as a sacred intimate in 1992 with the Body Electric School, and qualified as a CSB & CSSE with Deej & Uma at the Institute of Somatic Sexology.

As a member of the Ethics Committee and Grievance Council 2019-2024, I was involved in creating the current Codes of Ethics and the ACSB Grievance Learning, Repair & Accountability Process. I was a Board Member of 3 ACSB Boards 2019-2023, VP of the 2023-5 Board, and am a co-facilitator of the ACSB Introduction to Transformative Justice Circles.

I direct the UK & Ireland CSB/CSSE training with the School of Somatic Sexology and was formerly co-director of the Sea School of Embodiment.

  • Liz Ray: Vice President

I am a Certified Sexological Bodyworker and relational coach, originally from the U.S. and now happily building a new chapter of life in Lisbon. With a background spanning over 30 years as an artist, professional dancer, master yoga teacher, and expressive arts therapist, I’ve always been drawn to the deep intelligence of the body. My own journey of healing and self-reclamation led me to sexological bodywork, where I finally felt at home.

I am dedicated to helping others learn to trust their bodies and embrace sexuality with confidence, especially those who are navigating physical changes, evolving desires, and new phases of love and connection.

I trained as a CSB and CSSE with the Sea School of Embodiment and the Institute for Relational Harmony Studies.

I am currently centrally located near Minneapolis, Minnesota. I voluntarily assumed the position of Treasurer in September 2019 which is about the same time that I moved from San Diego to Minneapolis. I am now in my fourth term as ACSB treasurer.

Having lived in different cultures, I have immersed myself in various spiritual traditions, raised four beautiful daughters, and founded several successful business ventures. I bring a compassionate, non-judgemental attitude to all my relationships and to every client or group session. • Katie Spataro: Board member

I am a queer, white, cisgender femme living and working on unceded Duwamish lands known as Seattle, Washington. In addition to my work as a somatic sex educator and certified sexological bodyworker, I am also a womb tender, holistic pelvic care provider, and full spectrum doula who studies and practices at the intersections of birth work and sex work, drawing upon the embodied wisdom of these two lineages to support healing of the personal and collective cultural body. I completed my training in sexological bodywork in 2015 in Canada, and am currently core faculty at the Institute for the Study of Somatic Sex Education as well as a Certified Facilitator through the School of Consent.

I am delighted to join the ACSB board after over a decade as a member of our association, and excited to be a part of the living ethos and horizon building of our shared profession.
